Location and routes

Location is only read while an adventure is running, and for the map while the Adventure tab is open. The "Always" permission is requested only after an explanation, and you can decline it.

When you finish, we store your route as a simplified line (about 1 metre precision) with its start and end time, distance, climb and steps. Raw GPS readings are used to measure the adventure and are not stored.

What your friends see

  • A short summary of what you did: a finished adventure, an unlocked achievement, a new rank.
  • For adventures, an abstract outline of the shape with no coordinates, so it shows the shape of the walk and not where it was.
  • A map under your posts, unless you turn off "Show maps to friends" in Settings. Friends receive the route with the first and last 200 metres cut off, so your home or start point is not shown.
  • Strangers, blocked players and people who are not your friends never receive a route.

Finding friends

You choose how people can find you. By default they can search for your username; turn that off and you can still be reached by invite link or QR code. Blocking someone removes you from each other's search and feeds, and they are not told.

Contact matching is off unless you turn it on, on both sides. The app reads your address book only when you tap "Find friends from contacts", scrambles each email address on your phone and sends only those scrambled values. Nothing it receives is stored.

Notifications

We store a push token for your device so cheers, comments and friend requests can reach you. You can switch each kind off in Settings, and the app only asks iOS for permission when you turn them on.

Deleting your account

Choose Delete account in Settings. Your profile, adventures, balances and friendships are all removed in one step. There is no soft delete and no recovery.
